"If we were meant to be stable, we'd have been built like a pyramid... Rather, we're more like an upside-down pendulum that needs to recover our center..."—excerpt from Moshe Feldenkrais Playing with gravity.
Drawing on these principles, I propose to embark on a journey of rediscovering our center and clarifying our self-image. From this enriched sensory experience, I am offering a more nuanced relationship with gravity — cultivating our ability to move fluidly into and out of equilibrium. In doing so, we learn to engage with balance not as something fixed, but as something alive and dynamic, gently “teasing the edge”.
Participants will leave with greater confidence in balance, more ease in standing and walking, and smoother, more fluid transitions between movements. Over time, this can translate into a more resilient upright posture and a clearer sense of how to recover gracefully when we are thrown off center.
Date and time: Tuesday, March 24th from 6pm-8pm
[Prior experience in Feldenkrais or somatic work is strongly encouraged.]
