What Happens When You Start

Session 1 — Understand You & Experience Change

We begin by getting to know you — really getting to know you.

First, we listen.


We learn about your situation: where the problem is, how severe it is, how it started, and what has been happening over time. We also take into account associated conditions and your lifestyle.

Then, with precision, we assess your posture and alignment, and observe how you move in everyday life — getting up from a chair, walking, turning, balancing, bending, reaching.

We clarify what you want, what you need, and what kind of change your nervous system is ready to accept and carry into your daily life.

We identify the most significant movement patterns contributing to the problem, and through gentle, guided work, you begin to feel meaningful change — often in the very first session.

Most people leave feeling heard, understood, and thoroughly examined — with a clearer sense of what’s been missing, and a feeling that things can finally move in a different direction.

This gives you a clear starting point — not guesswork, but direction.

Session 2 — Build Clarity & Direction

In the second session, we refine what works for your body.

We reduce unnecessary effort, improve coordination, and begin to establish a more reliable way of moving — one that doesn’t keep triggering the same patterns of tension and pain.

We also begin to guide you more actively — helping you understand what to do, and just as importantly, what to stop doing to support healing and recovery.

Session 3 — Create a Path Forward

By the third session, you’ll have both experience and understanding.

We help you consolidate the changes, clarify what to continue, and map out the next steps — whether that means continuing care or applying what you’ve learned on your own.

A simple, structured beginning — without pressure to commit beyond these first steps. So you’re not left wondering what to do next.

No. Many people come to us without a clear diagnosis — or after trying multiple treatments without lasting results.

We focus on understanding how your body is functioning and what’s contributing to your pain, rather than relying only on a label.

Will this be painful?

No. The work is gentle and guided.

We stay within a comfortable range and adjust everything based on your responses. Most people are surprised by how subtle the process feels — and how much can change without force.

How soon can I start?

We open a limited number of spots each month to ensure each client receives our full attention.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily.

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance — we’ll guide you through the entire process.

How do I know which practitioner to choose?

You don’t need to worry about that.

All of our practitioners are trained in the same approach and work closely together. You’re stepping into a shared process — not choosing between completely different styles.

What happens after the 3 sessions?

Many people choose to continue after the first 3 steps.

At that point, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s helping and what direction makes the most sense — whether that’s continuing with sessions or applying what you’ve learned on your own.

Is this covered by insurance?

The First 3 Steps to Getting Out of Pain is an educational program and is not reimbursable by insurance.

If you are specifically looking for physical therapy, we also have licensed physical therapists on our team who are familiar with the principles of this approach.

Physical therapy sessions are offered on a self-pay, out-of-network basis.
